Activity: Wrist extension
Summary:
A simple strength exercise for the extensors of the wrist.
Description:
- sitting with the forearm supported by the thigh, hand gently closed into a fist
- slowly extend (lift) the hand bending only from the wrist
- then slowly flex (drop) the wrist
- repeat as instructed
- the exercise can be progressed by adding either elastic resistance or a small weight
- NOTE: doing this exercise with the elbow straight, but still supported underneath, will tension the longer wrist extensors more (such as extensor carpi radialis longus)
