Activity: Wrist flexion



A simple strength exercise for the flexors of the wrist


  • sitting with the forearm supported by the thigh (palm face-up), hand gently closed into a fist
  • slowly flex (lift) the hand bending only from the wrist
  • then slowly extend (drop) the wrist
  • repeat as instructed
  • the exercise can be progressed by adding either elastic resistance or a small weight
  • NOTE: doing this exercise with the elbow straight, but still supported underneath, will tension the longer wrist flexors more
