Activity: Calf stretch: soleus focus (supine)



A simple stretch for the calf, (focused more on the soleus, tibialis posterior and long toe flexors), good for those who are unable to fully weight bear on their leg.


  • laying, back flat on the floor
  • grab either end of a belt or strap, with the middle looped under the ball of the foot
  • with the knee slightly bent, pull gently on the ends of the belt/strap until a comfortable stretch is flet in the posterior part of the lower leg
  • NOTE: decrease the amount of hip flexion if too much stretch is felt at the hamstring (posterior thigh)
