Activity: Lat stretch: Gas Pedal



A simple and effective stretch for latissmus dorsi, only to be done in the absence of conflicting back issues.


  • sit with your legs out if front of you, knees bent, toes up towards the ceiling
  • reach one arm between your knees and hold onto the outside of your opposite foot
  • lean back, rounding through your upper back until you feel a gentle stretch behind your shoulder blade.
  • to increase the stretch you can slowly push your foot down towards the floor like you’re hitting the gas.
