Activity: One-leg squat
Summary:
One leg squat to developp proper hip control, untilizing the lateral stabilizers of the hip. This is important for running, especially during heelstrike.
Description:
- engage your spinal stabilizers
- maintaining a neutral spine, release deep hip muscles (think of separating your sit bones)
- come down into a one leg squat
- keep your pelvis level; don’t let the pelvis drop on the non-weight-bearing side
- drive your hips back to engage the glutes
- be sure you’re not “gripping” with your hip flexors
