Activity: Prayer stretch for latissmus dorsi



An effective stretch for the full length of the lats, or latissmus dorsi muscles.


  • kneeling on hands and knees, sit back on heels and reach forward with arms
  • keep your palms facing up to the ceiling if possible
  • keep your tailbone tucked so that your lower back is gently rounded
  • try to straighten your elbows, keeping your arms close to your ears
