Activity: Standing pec minor stretch



A simple, effective stretch for the pectoralis minor muscle. This muscle is commonly found shortened and is directly related to upper extremity dysfunction.


  • standing facing through a doorway, and place the palm of the hand against the doorframe or wall, roughly at shoulder height.
  • keep the elbow low, and maintain the position of the scapula (shoulder blade).
  • turn the body away until a stretch is felt through the front of the chest and shoulder.
