Activity: Shoulder: pendular exercise



Very gentle shoulder mobility exercise focused more on glenohumeral (shoulder) movement than scapular movement


  • standing in a slight forward stoop position, bending at the hips while keeping the spine neutral, have one hand resting on something (countertop, chair back, etc...) for support
  • have the other arm dangling in a relaxed position
  • very gently "set" the scapula, pulling it back into a neutral position up onto the back (NOT shrugging it up towards the ear)
  • move the arm in a circular path (clockwise or counterclockwise), within the comfortable range only,
  • continuous movement and switch directions as instructed
