Activity: Arch rolling



A simple myofascial release exercises for the plantar fascia, the intrinsic foot muscles as well as a mobilization technique to help splay the bones of the midfoot and metatarsals..


  • standing with the arch of one foot resting on the ball (tennis or lacrosse ball)
  • you can use a wall or countertop for support if balance is needed
  • gently press the arch of the foot into the ball
  • roll the foot back and forth over the ball, just in the range of the arch (ie: not the heel or ball of the foot)
